Your Privacy
 
Ape Apps does not store or retain any personal information that can be used to identify you (the end user), unless specifically stated in the application (for example, an e-mail address used for account registration).  No data specific to the end user will ever be shared or sold to third parties.  Ape Apps has no interest in housing and storing users personal information or data.  
 
Explanation of App Permissions
 
Software from Ape Apps on various platforms will send data from your device back to the Ape Apps server.  Here is what we are looking at and why:
 
Internet Connectivity
 
All Ape Apps software requires permission from the user to maintain an internet connection.  This is for statistical logging purposes, gathering anonymous data for the Ape Market website.  The Ape Market tracks the following information about the user:
 •Date the app was installed
 •How many times the app has been opened
 •What type of device the app is installed on
 •The 2 digit country code the device is located in
 
None of the information collected above can be tied back to the specific user, and no information beyond what is stated above is stored by the Ape Market.  To see how the above data is used, please see the Ape Market Statistics page.  
 
Device State/Network State
 
This permission is required by some advertising networks for displaying in-app banner advertisements.  It allows the app to determine if your device has a network connection before attempting to contact the ad server to request an advertisement.  
 
Location
 
The location permission is used solely for advertising purposes.  Some advertisements are targeted for specific countries or regions, and this is why the advertisement provider requests the user’s location.  This data is not stored or retained by Ape Apps in any way.
 
Receive Boot Completed
 
This is another advertisement permission.  Apps with this permission serve advertisements through the device’s notification system. The app is requesting to know when the device has been turned on, so that the advertisement process may be activated.  No data about your device’s current power state is transmitted to or used by Ape Apps.
 
Your Personal Contact Information
 
Some Ape Apps services, such as the Discussions forums, requires users to enter an e-mail address for account registration.  Ape Apps will never share or disclose your e-mail address or any other personal contact information to anybody.
