To start with, the entire game UI has been overhauled in this release, from the initial new character creator, to the main HUD, to the character stats screen to the inventory. There isn't a part that hasn't been touched, giving the previous iterations "programmer-grade" UI a much needed overhaul. Of course, I am still a programmer, but I think you will find that everything looks a lot better now!

Everything has been tidied up and made easier to understand and see. Focused items/elements/NPC's are now plain to see. Hit boxes have been dialed in so that its much easier to select and interact with things. Players will find that the overall gameplay experience has been vastly improved, whether you are on desktop, mobile or handheld.

Performance improvements are all over the place as well, and will be particularly noticeable on lower end devices like smartphones. The game's underlying Scroll3D rendering engine has received massive work over the last couple of months in games like My City and My Colony 2, and that work pays off in Realms of Conflict as well. There are also plenty of RoC specific fixes, including a bad memory leak related to loading and unloading map chunks.

The New Game character creator screen got a much needed revamp. It was ultra cluttered and hard to navigate before, and now I think you will find it's about a million percent better.

Of course, what makes Realms of Conflict is the actual conflict itself, and the controversial story continues with the addition of five new quest lines. Of course there wont be story spoilers in this release, but the new quests involve finding tariff evaders, breaking a goblin out of prison, protecting loggers from wolves, and setting the stage for the big upcoming conflict between the Trenton garrison and the Hamintona refugees, which will probably be the big focal point of the next update.

The Realms of Conflict update is available now on Steam, Windows, Android and iOS. Find download links for all platforms below:
