Ape Apps Translation Portal is Now Live

This past summer, I started adding a new library I created to some of my apps and games which I called the "universal translator" library. What this library did was basically, when a user first opened one of my apps, it would gather up all of the strings in the application and send them off to my server. The server would check for updated translations in their device language and return the translated strings. This way I would not have to package all of the strings into the application at runtime, and the user could always have the latest translations.

Most apps also included a way for users to view what all translations were missing for their language and submit a suggestion. This was fine, but I wanted to have one place where users who were interested in translations could go, see what all strings were currently missing, and submit their suggestions. Today that service is now live!

The application is still pretty basic, but it will get better in time. The necessary functionality is all there though. On the top toolbar you can select the desired language you wish to work with, and then on the left sidebar you can see a list of apps which currently have missing translations. From there, you can submit a suggestion for any of the missing strings in the application.

As I mentioned above, the app is still pretty basic, but for the most part it gets the job done. If you are interested in helping out with any of the translation efforts for a specific app or game, check out the link to the translation portal below!
