Ape Apps

I am running it on Nvidia shield. The newer model. When I first installed it a few months back. It worked perfectly. Now, after a minute or two of the video. It crashes back to its home screen.
I am on the latest version of it.
My question. Is this intentional? I would gladly pay for the app. But when I click on remove advertising.
Nothing happens. So, how do I pay to get back how it used to work?
Btw, I've tried several video players. Same thing on each one.
Help.
