Yeah I know people really want this one, but from a technical standpoint it is a lot more complicated than it seems. It will take some time to implement. There are entire games based just on building a public transportation network.

I say Forget adding new engine stuff why not just add ANTI GRAVITY packs to the backs of the colonists then you can easily tweek the walking speed . PS Just add the packs they dont really need to fly just look like they are .

One simply garphics update and a simple walking speed tweek and wala your done .

if they fly they will be super human like super man but here super coloniste (and the best of the best they work all the time and never protest ,a dream what?)
i like this idea it can be named conveyor belt road for low tec level and anti gravity for hight tec level

the speed is increase by 1.5
the conveyor cost
10 ore
5 iron
2 whell
(it can be change)

and for the anti gravity
the speed is increase by 3 and if alimented use 1 power and increase by 5
it can cost
50 ore
40 iron
20 gold
10 alu
5 microship

or.. a technology+structure for give car (horse for antiquitas) or other transport. At the end, just a graphic change, with the colonists sit on car, and the fatigue formula adjusted.

well a cost for the upgrad mite be a good idea but adding in a new transport thing would cause the same issue he is talking about .
My idea just gets around all that add in the teck and cost and its workable .
a little nicer upgarde without making tons more programing not bad

Well, the structure should be just a "aesthetic addon", a car factory for the colony. Consume wheels, steels, gold, plastic and other stuff for build car, and the car "value" are just "eat" by the colonists like food/water.

I don't think cars would be a good idea, as it is the future and people have most likely went towards more self efficient modes of transportation. Maybe bikes and mopeds would be better, giving your colonies a more rustic charm.

electric car? nuclear car? or..better, a nice gravitational skateboard. :D

But.. in game we already use coal and oil..

the vehicle type is just a graphic concept. The base idea is to apply a vehicle with the structure similar to the food/drink system (x consume every n minute).
