MC2 Classic v0.52.0 Released
For those still unaware, the voxel-based sequel to My Colony that has been in development since 2020 has been rebranded to MC2 Classic, while a new My Colony 2 game has been restarted from scratch. There will be more news on that later, but the good news for players who loved the voxel style colony builder is that it lives on in the form of MC2 Classic which has just been updated to v0.52.0, so let's take a look at what has changed!

There was a bug in the original release of MC2 Classic that prevented the game from being started from the Ape Apps Launcher. As the Launcher is the primary distribution method for this edition of My Colony, you can understand where that would be a major problem. I am happy to report that this issue is now resolved, and MC2 Classic can now be played from the Launcher again.
More than simply being able to launch though, MC2 Classic now supports the one-click join feature of the Ape Apps Launcher. When a user on your friends list is playing MC2 Classic, you will now see a notification on the Launcher home screen that will allow you to join their world with a single click. Very handy indeed!
This update also makes improvements to Private Cloud saving and support, for users who take advantage of the Ape Web Apps Desktop Bridge.
Just as a reminder, the full version of MC2 Classic is now free and available to all, with all premium content and features included. So if you never played the game while it was still called My Colony 2, or you missed out on some of the premium content, now is a great time to try it out. If you don't have the Ape Apps Launcher, you can still play the game from the web directly at it's new location:
Looking forward, I do not plan on adding any new features or content to MC2 Classic, as I consider the game to be finished. All future development will be going towards the new My Colony 2, which I will be talking about more in detail over the coming months. For those who can't wait for more info, be sure to join the official Ape Apps Discord channel, as leaks happen there often!
Although no new content or features will be added to MC2 Classic, I do want to assure the players that the game is not "dead," nor will it be going away any time soon. I am committed to keeping the online trade server active for the long haul and will also provide regular engine and maintenance updates to the game as well. And the game, as My Colony 2, was actually pretty mature in terms of content, so feel free to enjoy MC2 Classic today and well into the future!
