My Colony v3.6.0 Released
My Colony has just been updated to v3.6.0, including bug fixes, pathfinding improvements, additional lightmaps and more! Let's see what's new!

Changed
- Road pathfinding costs now distinguish faster road tiers instead of giving most advanced roads the same weight
Added
- U shortcut skips confirmation for eligible single-building upgrades; normal popup upgrades remain confirmed
- Drag-to-pan interaction for the technology tree, with pointer tracking beyond the viewport bounds
- Close button for the chat sidebar
New lightmaps added:
- Museum
- Large Resort
- Deluxe Bussing Authority
- Subterranean Housing Module
Fixed
- Harvesters overlooking reachable resources when the nearest interaction tile had no route
- Resources and refineries being blacklisted before all interaction tiles were checked; partial checks now resume within the existing pathfinding work limit
- Cached routes remaining stale when construction changed navigation in chunks between waypoints
- Rovers ignoring cheaper road routes or staying on slower roads beside faster ones because the A* heuristic overestimated road travel costs
- Units sometimes not selecting on click when decorative traffic shared their tile or when they were stopped between tiles
- Passable pavement upgrades no longer remove existing tiles before queued replacements pass validation; upgrades charge only the cost difference
For Windows desktop users (non-steam), including the Windows Store and Ape Market releases of the game, there is a fairly substantial change in how the game is packaged. Particularly for the Windows Store release, it now uses the same build pipeline that the Steam client uses, so you may notice some differences. If you have issues with the new Windows Store release, please let me know in the Discord.
The Ape Market Windows release is now distributed as a signed and packaged .msix build, replacing the old .exe installer. That being the case, there is not a straight upgrade from the previous Windows desktop build to the new one, so you will need to uninstall your old copy of My Colony and redownload the new one from the Ape Market. On the plus side though, the new .msix format includes built-in automatic updating from the Windows operating system itself, so future updates to this version will be a lot more smooth!
Thank you to all players who have reported issues and suggestions through Discord. Moving forward, I will get bug reports and suggestions a lot faster if you report them through the in-game Send Feedback dialog that can be found in the slide-out title screen menu. I have set up an automated nightly script that combs through those and converts them into to-do items automatically, so please consider using that mechanism for reporting future suggestions and issues!
Anyway, the My Colony update is now live for all platforms, so download it today and have a look:
