Actually this has nothing to do with population or map size. I tried to kick all colonists out of the colony(with my save backed up,of course),before workers' spots being updated the game is still choppy.
When I tried to switch to online mode I got it. The research convertors are to blame. When they are disabled(because of the short power failure after switching),the game regained performance again.Even all other buildings were enabled,the freezing couldn't be triggered any more.
Maybe that's because a lot use of random calculation. If developers could notice this,the problem could be simply settled by adjusting the structure.

@Invincible
Turning the immigration(even tourist entry as well) off doesn't improve the freezing at all. My map is a 260*260 single one,so the size doesn't matter neither. Maybe this has something to do with the game engine...Expecting updates.
Thanks for your assistance,anyway.

I enlarge my population by star ports. I don't have any cloning facilities.
By the way,are you suffering the same problem?

Problem:With a large population,the game becomes choppy regardless of how excellent the hardware is.
Version:Android 1.4.0 to 1.4.2
Description:
*My colony has a population of 180k and while playing,the game freezes for about 0.5s each 2~3s.During this period,Not only the render process but also the simulation is frozen.
*Although with an excellent device and GPU rendering on,the problem is still.
*ANY engine settings doesn't work.
*When playing in a smaller colony,the problem cannot be triggered.
Does anyone have the same problem or solutions?
