I'm having the same issue. All buildings stop production until I click "show workers". Even then, they will stop again, likely when the game saves. You see workers flood out when you simply view them. I lost thousands of colonists and even my tourists all died because it took time to figure out how to get them producing again. By the time I've clicked through all buildings to start them, I have to start again.
