Ahh brilliant!

I had this brilliant idea about buying and selling on trade since I have a bit of resources to gamble with... so I thought I'd try. So the 1st one went well (no buys yet though) so I tried selling something else and boom! A strike has been added to my account. I don't really understand why. I tried selling something for 2040 per 100 (I think) but the pop up said it will not allow anything above 2500. Even though somebody else had one up for slightly higher. Is there somewhere where I can do a little research on how on earth this works? Or even some sort of guideline on the game I haven't come across?
