Hello and thank you for your time. As stated in the title, my game tends to get stuck in the Syncing to Cloud portion of its save.
Version 2.1.0
Android. Samsung S24+
United Earth, map was originally large, but annexed to pretty dang huge AFTER original data loss.
How to replicate:
Step 1) Play the game.
Step 2) Do almost ANYTHING that changes the current window off of the app while the app is running. Things like swapping over to Google to go to ape-apps.com
Step 3) Return focus to the app, and wait for the save to attempt.
Step 4) Syncing to Cloud appears at the bottom of the screen, in red, and continues to display for 5+ minutes.
Step 5) Panic.
I have discovered a way to work around the issue! Once the Syncing to Cloud appears and does NOT complete, I can go to my capitol and turn off the cloud sync. I create a backup file. The backup file save process then forces the Cloud Sync to stop. I can return to title screen. This creates another new save. I can then go BACK into the colony, and reenable Cloud sync.
I lost all data one day after spending ApeCoins on research. I had to revert to a much older save from May 27th 2025, losing about 7 days of progress. I spent the $9.99 for uhh, however many ApeCoins that is. I spent all of them except for like, 10, to jump to late late game stage, and that progress was irreversibly lost.
The only thing I would like to see happen sooner than later is a credit of 990 ApeCoins added to my account, as the data loss created an actual loss of real life funds, which is upsetting.
I hope this is detailed enough information. I can give many more details if required, but I'm not sure what else may be relevant, and I am not trying to bore everyone to death here. Thank you for your time and your consideration.
