If it isn't too difficult to implement, it might be more functional and utilitarian to solely use the conversation system.

You should be able to access it from a dropdown menu by clicking on your username at the top.
That "by Annasiel" was for the thread OP. It shows both the OP and the user who made the most recent post on Desktop (the latter is on the right-hand side, not the left, and it is missing). I understand the confusion, and apologize for causing it.
I'm confused by what you mean. There isn't a name for the "by" section in my screenshot.
Patchdaddy is saying the "Leave Conversation" button makes you literally exit the conversation, so you can't view it anymore. If you want to go somewhere else and come back to the conversation later, you just have to click the Forum link at the top of the page. The conversation's still gonna be there when you hit the Conversations button again.
