Why don't more buildings upgrade to others?

I'm not saying everything has to be upgradeable, just the ones that make sense to. Like the water extractor should upgrade to atmosphere condenser, charcoal pile should become the chark storage place etc.

Maybe the Advanced Hydroponics Center should upgrade to the Vertical Warehouse Farm.

Gold mint transforms gold in money while bank generates money not realy the same things (can't be upgraded for me)
