MC2 storyline
Since MC2 takes place before United earth, its safe to assume that the history of this fictional earth is the same as our own up to 2020. After 2020 and the pandemic, tech ceo's decided that earth was too dangerous to live on and started to invest their money in space. This led companies like Google, Apple, Amazon and Facebook to start their own space programs. After a few decades they finally perfected the technology needed for spaceflight and colonization and started sending people to other planets/moons to colonize them.
To avoid copyright issues google will be called Moongle, Apple: scrapple, amazon: tenga, and facebook: face-e-reader.
