Tourism in Trouble!

To start, I want to mention that I have plenty of food, water, rum, and cloth. I have a surplus on most all resources and have an atmosphere of 15.5 million. I have built motels, hotels, resorts, a zoo, large park, shopping mall, obelisk, pyramid, restaurants, playhouse, house of horror and about 20 spaceports. All buildings have free space for access. I'm currently able to support 9,500 Tourists, however I'm unable to keep more than 10% of that at any time. I'm perplexed and not exactly sure if this qualifies as a technical issue or not understanding the mechanics.

I looked for advice or tips on this and was unable to find anything.

I have the same problem, wondering if too high of atmospheric levels drive them away??

Perhaps? I'm currently working on knocking it down to see if it improves things. Just a resource crunch at the moment trying to build the alien atmosphere condensers.

I haven’t tried long but when I started adding more decorations tourists went up to 99%. Just add some areas with cactus/sand skulls or more fountains. Any decorations beside from roads.
I tested this in a medium colony, around 10k colonists and 5M atmosphere.

20 space ports is not enough .
40 would be better there timer is just like the landing pad so with only 20 they arive slow ( ps the star gate brings them in much faster .
so put in 40 - 50 space ports then more arrive faster then they leave
the game is set up now to they come they spend they leave so 20 space ports 20 come 19 leave you get a really slow incress
Think about it you have 100 pads and put in a 1100 house and it still takes 45 mints to fill and its only 1100 you have room for 9 k tourists taht alot of space ports to fill it and keep it full

I have the same problem.
Per one spaceport came max. 10 tourists.
In my first try at Offline-Mode I had only one Spaceport and get over 1.400 tourists.

Before the changes in tourists they would come but NOT leave so the numbers would keep incressing untill they maxed out ( say you show room for 4500 you would get 4500 even with one pad as they WOULD NOT leave . It was incomplete programming .
Now the tourists come spend and leave so what happens is the pads timer ends bringing One in then the tourists stays say 5 mints mean wile the pad has brought in 20 more .
Eventually the incoming tourists = the out going tourists and the number stays the same .
so if you have 10 pads once the out going = the incoming the only way to incress the incoming is add more pads .

Lord put in 5 landing pads it takes hours to fill 500 jobs put in 100 landing pads and it takes mints to fill teh same jobs .
tourists is the same EXCEPT they do NOT stay .
