Mesh Platforms
Mesh platforms dont have much of a use as they are slower than most bridges. Maybe let us build on mesh platforms, that would let you expand on the water world while also giving them a new use. This could be limited to above ground buildings so that land is still used. Land is the main limiting factor causing many to not play on water worlds. You could also make them slightly more expensive as a lot of them would need to be build making them more later game.

Yet I can tell that it can act as prependicular intersection for bridges, I won't say it is totally useless.
