I think that after you discover coal and oil you should be able to make cars. You can have a factory for cars, a car dealership, gas stations, car rental service (for tourists), and a mecanic shop. Granted cars are not good for the environment so they will burn coal and lower your atmosphere level. It will be slow at first, but as more cars are built it could start causing issues. Just an idea! I might add possible pictures if the idea is liked.

And cars go where? It defeats the purpose of Commute Distance and Time.

It could just speed up the peoples commute time alittle I guess. They would have to start waiting in traffic which would counteract the increased speed.

What about trains that way it means that for each point to travel on one has to make the actual path to travel. It would make a lot of sense for fully developed areas, not for undeveloped areas. Maybe make each train car bought cost money and electricity. That would be controlled by a central controlling building. You can buy more trains per line to handle more passengers. At first it requires constant coal then oil then finally electricity. Upgrade the trains for faster travel decreases fatigue by a great deal, helps put people onto shifts to time with the train.
