Some of these complaints have me a bit concerned for the late-game, now that there's the 10b money cap.

there is no 10b money cap or money cap of any kind. There was a one time tax to undo the resource hyperinflation caused by a GBT hack, and it only impacted people playing in online mode.

I agree that tweaks need to be made to the new systems and they will be, but there was no real way to give a proper warning. This update needed to go out in an emergency way. There was a hack to the GBT that threw the game's entire market into hyperinflation, making things very bad for new players. Even today the guy is still trying to hack the API, I see he's had at least 5 failed attempts already this morning.

I can lower decay rate in the future but the high rate is needed to restore balance to the game. I might remove decay altogether for offline games. But the top priority for online is keeping resource prices balanced, since resource trading is basically the main purpose of online. If people need to lose 200 billion uranium to make that happen, then that is what it is. If that causes you to ragequit then I am sorry to see you go but there is nothing I can do about it. If it causes My Colony to die as a game, then that is what happens. I will move on, learn my lesson, and steer far from trying to put online mode in a game like this again, which frankly has been nothing but a headache from day one, as well as an extra expense, particularly weighed against the relatively few players who even use online mode to begin with.

I agree that some changes had to be done but i would prefer regain my money and lose my aluminium.
Btw you talked about adding storage limit to other ressources type, please dont add that to at least money, civics and research.
I don't know if you've seen my post in game help but the decay forces some builings to produce ressources that are not even needed. Some of those buildings use other ressources which ends up in a waste of ressources if it could be changed it would be nice.

Nice. How about people that lose 200k uranium, 1 million aluminum, 4 million gold because THERE WAS NO EFFING WARNING!

Create world. Mine ore, mine gold. Delete refineries, ($850 coin & don't need to pay people) Create reactors, mine uranium, build atmosphere processors, build hydrogen reactors, sell nuclear reactors. So, no storage for gold, none for uranium, none for aluminum. And then you decay this crap and destroy the very colonies your are saying need the help for hyper inflation.

Then, to add insult to injury, when the people are justifiably pissed about your actions, you show contempt for them and say give them middle finger.

You want to in-ass the economy and level the playing field? Delete every colony. Everywhere. Make everyone restart from scratch. Level the field. No one has anything. You've already pissed off the player base and given us the middle finger when we complain. Make it uniform. Every colony, everywhere, zero it all. No buildings, no colonists, keep the research.

What? Too much?

I dont know how you dont have any storage for gold (kind of a joke here). anyway the obvious storage for me for aluminium is steel yard (ill let you think about it)
I dont really know about uranium but only have warehouses and steelyards and im on 240 million (and no new building uranium storage) so may be you forgot to build some important storage buildings. before complaining try to see what you did wrong first

edit 14 million my bad not240

I didn't do anything wrong. I spin up new colonies when I get bored from working on my Masters. I've been unemployed since February and this game has been one of my only diversions. I got hit by the tax, lost almost a trillion coin. Sucks, but okay. I can get that back. Resources being lost, that's something else. Since there were no storage requirements, I didn't build steel yards. With the 50 Advanced Ore, I have several millions steel capacity, no need to staff a steel yard. Brick warehouses, sure. Even quantum. Those don't store gold.

None of it really matters. The owner has shown his contempt for the userbase. Fine, no problems. I can find a new game. I've left my reviews on the MS store and the Android store. I've deleted my save games, and removed the clients.

I will find a game where the developer doesn't take a crap on the users and then get snippy if they protest.

The reviews:

My Colony was a great game, but after the developer punished the entire userbase for the actions of a few, players are leaving in droves. Don't bother.

The moment everyone has been waiting for has finally arrived, the release of My Colony v0.50.0 - the fighting 50!

There was also a new Galactic Emperor tax levied. This is the Emperor's highest tax ever, coming in at 95% of everything over $750m, and 100% of everything over $10b. This was imposed because of the API hacker who auto-purchased every contract on the market, leaving some players with an ungodly amount of money. If you got your money legitimately, then I am sorry, but this is the way it is. You can thank the abusers for the tax.

Sorry @DPrice1972 you are so upset. I do not have contempt for the players of the game. I have explained what I did and why I did it in very precise details, absent sugar coating. Just because you do not like it does not mean I hate the players of the game. I am sorry you think I am taking a crap on you. I am not very good at treating people with kids gloves, as I am a software developer and not a PR guy. But as you said, you are in grad school and not a child. The reality is that the MC server was (and continues to be) under attack, I had to put in a quick fix to stop the bleeding. The fix was not perfect but will be improved with time. If I would have given a warning of the fix, the same people who were abusing the system before would have altered their behavior to circumvent the fix.

I don't know how many times this needs to be expressed, but this is a game very much in development, and nothing as it is right now is set in stone. It is clearly stated in the app store description and even inside of the game itself. You are right that I could have just deleted all colonies and started from scratch, and the thought has crossed my mind. But I have taken great pains to keep colonies started with the very first releases of the game working through every single update.

At the end of the day, the mechanics of the game changed and the way you designed your colony was not compatible with the new mechanics. It's not your fault, but it's what happened. Under better circumstances there would have been a heads up, as I have given more than ample heads up for the upcoming Trash and Atmosphere changes. But I had to protect the online mode from attack, I mean it was so bad that the entire GBT was hosed. So I fixed it and closed long-standing loopholes that existed in the game. This is part of the development process.

I think I have always been very accommodating to the community here, but as you said this last change was too much for you and you are out. You left your reviews and deleted the game, so I will say goodbye to you and wish you good luck.
